Motorcoach Operator – Part Time & Full Time

All you’ve been missing is a place to put it all together. Champion Coach could be that place. We are hiring full-time professional CDL drivers who enjoy traveling and having incredible experiences. You’ll have many opportunities to drive for some of the most recognizable sports teams and events. Champion Coach drivers work a flexible schedule which may vary from week to week. Multiple day/overnight trips and some weekends are offered. If you are a sports enthusiast you will enjoy driving for our teams all over the southeast including South Carolina Gamecocks, Clemson, Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, San Francisco Giants, New York Yankees, and many more. Champion Coach drivers become “part of the team”, and are recognized for their outstanding performance. Applicants must be safety-conscious with the ability to provide excellent customer service while delivering passengers safely to their destinations. Applicants must have at least 2 years CDL Class B driving experience with preferred 1 year specific bus driving and a safe driving record.
Fleet Data:
Champion Coach operates a fleet of 40 motorcoaches, which consist of primarily Motor Coach Industries (MCI) J4500. The fleet also includes several Prevost H3-45 and Van Hool CX-45 model coaches. These coaches have been custom ordered for driver satisfaction, reliability and customer satisfaction with features such as leather seats, decluttered driver cockpit, air-ride driver’s seat, power outlets and Wi-Fi. The average fleet age is 2016 with 70% of coaches being 2018 or newer. Driver’s are cross-trained with the ability to drive all three models. Like a certain model more than another? Dispatch will work with you to keep you in a preferred model coach.
Fleet Maintenance:
Champion Coach has multi-million dollar maintenance facility and team on-site. The fleet has a rigorous vehicle specific preventative maintenance schedule and consistently inspected to ensure the highest level of safety and zero down time over the road for drivers and customers. Champion Coach utilizes apps such as WhipAround for pre and post trip inspection reports to communicate issues quickly and efficiently with mechanics and technicians. Each coach is connected via cellular network for remote diagnostics to monitor for issues over-the-road before they become a problem.
Position Requirements:
This position requires you to transport passengers as well as manage luggage. Safety, quality customer service and professionalism are required for this position.
Minimum Qualifications to Apply for this Position:
- At least 25 years of age.
- A valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement.
- Minimum of 5 years driving experience, including 3 year’s verifiable commercial driving experience, within the past 5 years, with 1 year motorcoach specific experience preferred.
- Able to lift up to 100 pounds.
- Good character and positive work history.
- Consent to and pass a background check, a drug screen, DOT physical, and a performance exam based on job responsibilities.
- Able to legally cross US borders.
- Good driving record.
- No more than 2 moving violation convictions/collisions, and no more than 1 preventable, DOT recordable loss in the last 12 months; no more than 4 moving convictions/collisions and no more than 2 preventable, DOT recordable losses in the past 3 years. In combination, not more than 2 moving violation convictions, and 2 preventable, DOT recordable losses. Speeding, tailgating, improper passing, failure to yield, illegal turns, running a red light/stop sign are examples of moving violations.
- No license suspensions related to moving violations or drugs in the past ten years (suspensions for physicals, insurance lapses, failure to pay fine and failure to appear are exempt under the ten-year rule).
- No driving convictions related to alcohol or illegal drugs in the past 10 years.
- Live within 50 miles of Greenville, South Carolina.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safe and responsible operation of motorcoach.
- Proper and timely completion of required paperwork (DOT and company).
- Courteous and thoughtful treatment of passengers and other individuals sharing the roadway.
- Professional conduct at all times while on duty or while in uniform.
Skills/Abilities:
- Have knowledge of and comply with all DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Have and practice the required skills to safely operate a motorcoach and handle passenger’s baggage.
- Ability to maintain a safe driving record.
- Ability to operate a motorcoach in all types of weather conditions.
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written or verbal form.
- Ability to problem-solve, use good judgment, and deal with a variety of situations.
- Be able to read and speak in the English language sufficiently to prepare reports and records, read road signs, and converse with the general public.
Physical Demands:
- Required to sit for long periods of time.
- Often required to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Required to stand, walk, climb, balance, see, talk and hear.
- Required to lift and push/pull heavy baggage.
- Safely and properly load and unload luggage.
- Fuel motorcoaches.
